Is a syndicate stealing town’s dogs?

Two weeks ago, the AACL received yet another complaint about a missing dog in the Limit Hill area

For most of us, our dogs are more than just animals… They are like members of the family.

So it’s utterly heartbreaking when they are stolen from us and there are no answers to our questions.

Residents of Acaciavale and Limit Hill are complaining that their dogs are going missing from their yards.

A family was recently devastated when their two Pit Bulls, only a couple of months old, went missing from the Acaciavale area.

Posters were put up and Facebook posts published, pleading to the community for help in finding their adorable dogs.

“How can people be so heartless as to steal someone else’s dog? What are they doing with the dogs?” questioned one resident.

People are wondering if an organised syndicate of dogs snatchers is operating in Ladysmith.

“How safe is our town now that there are not only house robberies and other crimes, now our pets are even getting stolen?” added the upset resident.

The cost of a dog is not cheap anymore, depending on the breed. Some people spend a small fortune when buying a dog.

And the love we develop for our pets is priceless; you cannot even attach an amount.

Two weeks ago, the Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) received yet another complaint about a missing dog in the Limit Hill area. When the league receives a complaint of a dog going missing, they immediately contact the Ladysmith Gazette, put up missing dog flyers and post it on their Facebook page.

If a member of the community notifies the league that they have seen a missing dog, then the league goes out and investigates. “If you want a dog, get your own and stop stealing other people’s. This is a very cruel act,” say the AACL.
