A 36-strong group of top touring jukskei players took time out to play matches against local schools teams at Dundee Junior School last Monday.
The group, that included physically disabled players, was made up of those selected at the national B and C tournament and their visit here was part of a tour throughout KZN.
After a tour of Talana Museum and surrounding battlefields, they were treated to a lunch at Dundee Junior School before playing jukskei against players from Dundee and Glencoe.

The touring team assisted the local players with advice and the games were played in a very cordial fashion and the local players learned a lot. In the first game, players from Dundee Junior School played against the visitors. In the second game, players from Sarel Cilliers High School and Dundee High School played against the touring team and ended up realising that the touring team was very strong. “By replacing local players with the reserves present, all the children who were there had the opportunity to play against the touring team and were thus given the exposure to play against the visitors from all over the RSA,” said local jukskei coach, Leon Lombard.
In the third game, the strongest players from the Dundee Glencoe area played against the touring team and the touring team was tested in a very friendly way.
Mr Lombard thanked the visitors for their visit and for assisting local enthusiasts.
