Gloomy weather deters golfers

Saturday saw a small field of golfers taking part in the 4 BBBS club competition at Dundee Country Club.

The gloomy weather with intermittent rain on Saturday saw a small field of golfers taking part in the 4 BBBS club competition at Dundee Country Club, in comparison to almost forty golfers coming out on Sunday in the bright sunshine to enjoy a social round.

Winning the 4 BBBS competition with 52 points was the pairing of M Mthethwa and H Hlongwane, six points ahead of second placed pairing of C Mkhwanazi and J Khumalo. The brother and sister pairing of Pierre and Elaine Booysen finished in third place, one point behind on 45 points.
The 10 Hole Cross Country Golf Challenge on Friday afternoon, with prizes kindly sponsored by Mandla Mthethwa, proved to be a real tester for the competitors with Danie Von Mollendorff managing to notch up 22 individual points to win the event. Dave Donaldson finished in second place on 20 points while Joe Khumalo came in third on 19 points.

Club members are to please note that there is a special meeting on Monday evening, September 19, at 6pm, and all golf members are advised of the Golf A.G.M. on Wednesday evening September 21, at 6pm.
Weekend’s fixtures: Friday afternoon 10 hole meat competition and on Saturday the club competition will be an I.P.S. format. On Sunday morning the ladies will be hosting the Northern Region Ladies League games.
