Cable fault leaves residents in the dark

A large part of Newcastle was without electricity this morning, despite the municipality conducting maintenance work yesterday, September 11.

A source explained the cause of the power outage was due to a cable fault in Murchison Street. The cable supplies a big part of town’s power, and technicians are attending to repairs.
