5 things to keep in your handbag this spring

Be the go-to friend if anyone needs something, because it's probably in your bag...

“Im a bag lady, but not the homeless variety. I love handbags, no matter what colour or size.

“I dont care if my bag is really heavy and has weighed down one side of my body to the point where my shoulders are a little off balance. Im the goto friend if anyone needs something, because I probably have it in my handbag.”

Does the above describe you? Well, having entered spring and seeing how hot it is nowadays in Ladysmith, women want to keep their body and face always looking good, regardless of the heat.

Here are 5 things to keep in your handbag just to be safe:

1- Any common pain relievers: With the heat, we are due for headaches or muscular pains. Hence, always have painkillers in your handbag, as you never know when you may need them.

2- Mirror: Get a small handheld one or use an old compact so you can check if you have something stuck in your teeth, a lash in your eye or just want to “preen”.

3- Deodorant: Very important to have, especially us women, as we not only do one chore in a day. Many of us are working and we definitely don’t want to work up a sweat and smell bad!

4- Sunglasses: Never go anywhere without sunglasses. You don’t want to all of a sudden be blinded by the rays of the sun while behind the wheel of your car! Plus, it’s a good way to avoid eye contact with undesirable strangers – added bonus!

5- Hair ties: Put one on your wrist and throw a few in your bag. If your hair decides to take on a mind of its own or you decide to work out, you’ll want to put it up.
