AN opportunity to relax with a cup of hearty home-made soup and spend quality time laughing with friends and family meant that everyone, who attended the Bingo and Soup evening at the Vryheid Methodist Church on Friday evening, was a winner.

Soup was available in every imaginable flavour, from the traditional butternut or potato and leek, to the more adventurous biltong or seafood soups, and accompanied by wholesome home-made breads and preserves.

While not everyone walked away with a prize, the church hall exuded an atmosphere of mounting excitement and good cheer with calls of, “Yes!” from the audience every time someone had a ‘winning’ number.

Methodist Church Minister, Albert Jacobs, described the event as, “a great success.”

“I would like to thank all the sponsors and all those who participated,” said Mr Jacobs. “Without the people that come and support us, this event would not be the success that it is.”
