Methodist Woman’s Auxiliary celebrates 100 years

The purpose of Women’s Auxiliary is to function as the Methodist Church’s helping hand by engaging in and encouraging evangelical outreach, like fund-raising for worthy causes.

For the past 100 years, the Methodist Women’s Auxiliary has worked tirelessly behind the scenes for the betterment of both church and community.

On Saturday, Newcastle Methodist Church hosted an event to celebrate the organisation’s national centennial, attended by members of congregations from Ladysmith, Newcastle, Vryheid and other neighbouring towns.

The purpose of Women’s Auxiliary is to function as the Methodist Church’s helping hand by engaging in and encouraging evangelical outreach, like fund-raising for worthy causes.

President elect for the NKZN region and Vryheid resident, Christine Simpson, attended the milestone celebration. She gave a brief talk on the history of Women’s Auxiliary, the importance of the organisation, and how it benefited the community at large.
