Help the SAPS fight crime

Community members are able to anonymously give the SAPS tip-offs in these crime report boxes.

VRYHEID SAPS’ Major Vusi Mbatha reminds locals of the importance of using the crime report boxes that have been set up around town.

“At the moment we have been handling a few cases of people in possession of unlicensed firearms. Many community members are usually aware of who owns such firearms but are afraid of coming forward and reporting them. This is where the report boxes come in handy,” said Major Mbatha.

Community members are able to anonymously give the SAPS tip-offs in these crime report boxes.

The aim of these boxes is for community members to help the police continue the fight against crime effectively.

The first box is at Vryheid Taxi Plaza where Ithala Bank was situated, the second is at Spar on the corner of East and Utrecht Streets and the third is at the corner of Checkers and PEP in Bloemnel Centre.
