Why are you ‘Fracking’ important to the cause?

Tell us why you should be included, what you can add and how leaving you out would be a really bad idea...

In October, Frack Free South Africa are hosting a Frack Free Fest in Matatiele – gathering anti-mining activists from across the country for an inspiring jamboree – sharing experiences, learning lots and crafting a statement to send to government on the best way forward for energy generation in South Africa.

There will be renewable energy experts, sneak previews of about-to-be-released movies, interactive explanations of relevent legislation, including EIAs Explained, the National Water Act and licensing process, and hopefully a summary of Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Acts for dummies (that’s most of us).

There will be site visits to interesting sustainable operations, including an AgriHub centre of excellence, off-grid farmsteads and a communal grazing programme supporting over 600 households. Now that’s a good alternative to mining our water factories!

Unfortunately, space is limited.

If you would just love to spend time with fellow fractavistas and believe you can contribute, send a few sentences telling us why you should be included, what you can add and how leaving you out would be a really bad idea.

Email Amo as soon as you can at admin@enviros.co.za or fax 039737489.

Several sites in and around Ladysmith have been selected for Fracking viability studies.
