Police seek assistance in solving murder

Police are seeking information about the whereabouts of Mbheki Sithole, who they believe may be able to solve the murder

Whilst gardening at his home in the Mkhalandoda area in Weenen, Sphiwe Daniel Sithole was shot. The incident was reported at about 2pm last Tuesday, August 23.

According to initial investigations, police have established that a suspect approached Mr Sithole and shot him several times with a rifle.
He sustained gunshots wounds to his chest.

“The deceased was injured and transported by ambulance to hospital but died on the way,” commented police spokesperson Captain Charmaine Struwig.

A case is being investigated by Weenen police and they require the assistance of the public. Police are seeking information about the whereabouts of Mbheki Sithole, who they believe may be able to solve the murder.

“The individual was previously from Mthebelu area, Weenen. At this time his whereabouts are unknown,” said Captain Struwig.
