Itec Freespool on top of NFWAA

As the day progressed the anglers started to reel in the fish in quick sessions

The Top Parts league 2 of NFWAA was held at SANFORD in zones A, B, C and E. Anglers were frustrated during the first half of the day as it seemed that there were no fish to catch as the baits were untouched after several casts. As the day progressed the anglers started to reel in the fish in quick sessions while others still had no luck. Glencoe angling club was drawn in zone A with Chelmsford and narrowly clinched victory by a solitary point. The final score in the zone was 13 points to 12. Newcomers to the association Endumeni took on Riverside in zone C and anglers had to work hard to register points on the board. Riverside managed to secure a win by 11 points to 4. Docrats went head to head with the mighty Itec Freespool in zone E but were no match to the defending champs and were left speechless when the nets were weighed. Itec Freespool recorded a 60 points win against Docrats 15 points.
Log leaders at the end of league two are: Itec Freespool (6), Riverside (6), Chelmsford (3), Glencoe (3), Endumeni (0) and Docrats (0). Ski Mohan of Itec Freespool earned himself a trophy and R250 from Top Parts for landing the heaviest scale fish weighing 3.410kg while Ahmed Dawood of Glencoe walked away with the heaviest non scale (eel) of 1.801kg. The highest point scorer on the day was Gareth Hendricks of Itec Freespool with 14 points. Anglers in the association are working hard towards being selected as the top five in their respective clubs as they stand a chance in competing in the Ebees Express top five at the end of season bagging the R3 000 cash that is up for grabs. The executive members of the association are in the process of securing a weeks holiday for an angler and five members of his family to the coast on surprise category in the association which leaves anglers wondering. Competitive angling will be halted for the next two months due to religious fasting and celebrations. Angling will resume in early November with the Streetwire Knockout round. The association takes this opportunity in wishing all Muslim anglers a happy Eid-ul- Adha and to all Hindu and Tamil anglers a blessful and peaceful fasting.
