A 40-year-old accused, who was out on bail for rape, is behind bars again. The man was facing one count of rape of a 25-year-old woman in Burford, which happened earlier this year.
He was arrested recently by the Ladysmith Family Violence, Child Protection & Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit after it was discovered in August that he had raped his neighbour’s children, aged 12 and 13.
The man allegedly managed to intoxicate the mother of the children; he then took advantage of the two young girls. After the crime came to light, police wasted no time making an arrest.
The accused appeared in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court today (Monday) on the two new rape charges.
The children have been moved to a place of safety.
