Exciting new fishing season on the cards

New innovations that will be introduced will hopefully make for more competitive and exciting season.

After the formalities of awards functions, prize giving and general meetings, the competitive fishing season shifts into top gear for affiliates of the Natal Fresh Water Angling Association. The first round of the league will take place on Sunday, August 2, at Richgate Park Ntshingwayo (Chelmsford) Dam.
Last season was a dream come true for ‘Itec Free Spool Angling club’ as they won both the league and knock out titles. Their anglers were also responsible for capturing the heaviest scaled and non-scaled fish for the season. The new innovations that will be introduced will hopefully make for more competitive and exciting season.
The NFWAA would like to thank Pradeep Singh of Top Parts for sponsoring all prizes for the league outings and Abed Kader of Streetwire for sponsoring the knockout fixtures. The main prizes for each of the outings will include a cash prize for the heaviest carp and barbel. The top point scorers in each club will also be rewarded with a spot in the fish off in the newly introduced top 5 competition.
The association would like to welcome new affiliates, Endumeni Angling club, from Glencoe, and wish them every success in their debut season. The other teams that will be contesting the 2016 – 2017 season are Chelmsford A.C and Itec Free Spool from Newcastle, Glencoe A.C, Docrats and Riverside from Dundee. At the recently held annual general meeting of the NFWAA the president wished all affiliates well for the upcoming season. Anglers wishing to join any of the clubs in your area can get contact details for each of these clubs from the secretary of the NFWAA. Contact Shane on 083 564 4904.
