With the local government elections now over, the ANC took time to declare itself victorious in a media briefing at their regional office recently.
The purpose of the briefing was to highlight their regional win.
“In Alfred Duma Municipality, which is the biggest municipality in the region, the African National Congress managed to get a total of 46 seats out of 72,” said Regional Secretary Sipho Hlomuka.
In the uThukela District Municipality, they managed to scramble in with 18 seats out of 32, effectively retaining control of the district municipality.
In the Okhahlamba region, the ANC managed to achieve a total of 15 seats and retain control of Bergville.
