ANC marches against violence

The march was not only against political killings, but also taxi violence that has been plaguing the area

With the recent shooting of David Muzi Mazibuko and also the death of Khanyisile Ngobese-Sibisi, both ward candidates for the ANC, the party made a decision to embark on a march against violence in the Ukhahlamba region today (Friday).

The march was not only against political killings, but also taxi violence that has been plaguing the area.

Beginning at the Kandahar Avenue sports grounds, the marchers made their way to the police station, where they submitted a memorandum urging police to be effective in their jobs and capture the perpetrators.

ANC Provincial Secretary Mluleki Ndobe urged police to respond to these cases with immediate effect, as they (ANC party) are losing more and more of their candidates.

The memorandum stated, among other things, that: the ANC calls on the SAPS to improve its services by arriving on time at incidents of crime and calls for peace in our communities, in particular in the taxi industry and between political structures.
