The power outage in the Aloe Park, Leonardsville and Hillside areas was due to an overload on the circuit breaker.
Technicians balanced the load and electricity was restored speedily.
Residents are urged not to use too many electrical appliances in this cold weather, such as heaters, as this puts pressure on the electricity supply and can cause an overload.
