R74 has been cleared of snow and opened to traffic

The road was closed at Langkloof from the Harrismith side and just past Bergville approaching Oliviershoek Pass

Oliviershoek Pass on the R74 between Bergville and Harrismith is once again open today (Monday) after being closed last night because of blizzard-like conditions, with heavy snow falling.

The road was closed at Langkloof from the Harrismith side and just past Bergville approaching Oliviershoek Pass.

There is currently no snow falling at Van Reenen’s Pass and the N3 is open.

People are urged not to go snow sight-seeing, as the areas where snow has fallen are not road-user friendly.
