Police made eight arrests and recovered 12 bags of dagga on the road between Bergville and Winterton on Thursday.
SAPS Mounted Unit officers deployed in the Winterton area were busy with stop and search operations when they stopped a minibus with eight occupants. A search of the vehicle turned up 12 bags of dagga.
All eight men, aged between 20 and 35, were arrested and charged for being in possession of dagga.
The drugs weighed in at 311kg with a street value of about R470,000.
The suspects are due to appear in the Weenen Magistrate’s Court.
