Murders, rape mar Dundee July

Despite the increased security presence at this year’s Dundee July, there were once again shocking crimes which marred the event. There were also four separate accidents reported to police.
A woman was raped at around 4pm at the grounds on Saturday, July 16.
It is alleged that she went to urinate in an open veld when she was approached by a man who raped her before fleeing. No arrests have yet been made.
On Sunday, July 17, at approximately 3am, a youngster was found laying dead in an open field at the horse racing ground. He was stabbed in the chest.
He was identified as Ntsikelelo Ngwenya (19) from Annadale, Dannhauser.
Police also found the body of another youngster outside the horse riding grounds on Sunday. While patrolling in the early hours of the morning, police noticed a body lying in a pool of blood. The deceased’s wallet was found next to him. He also suffered a stab wound to the chest. His Amajuba student card and ID were found in his pocket. The case is under investigation.
