Elderly man dies in house fire
An elderly couple were the victims of a fire when their home in Paradise caught fire.
PARADISE -An elderly couple were the victims of a fire when their home in Paradise caught fire.

The man, believed to be in his 50s, sustained fatal injuries and was found on the kitchen floor.
According to paramedics on scene, the man’s wife was also found inside the house.

“Unfortunately, the man passed away. The woman sustained burns to her lower body,” said ER24’s Jan-Henk van Vuuren.
She was attended to by paramedics, and taken to Madadeni Hospital for treatment.
It is speculated the fire occurred on Saturday.
The Fire and Rescue Department arrived on scene to find the fire had been put out.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be established.
