There are plenty of things that people have done and will continue to do, even after July 18:
DONATE
- Your time to an old age home, children’s home or animal shelter. Spread joy and colour their lives with your presence. This is something that can be started on Mandela day and seen through throughout the year by visiting these shelters once a month.
Great fun was had by Newcastle Advertiser staff at NSPCA for 67 minutes for Mandela Day. - Sporting gear, equipment or toys to children’s sporting programme or children’s shelter in your community or equipment.
- Food to an animal pound or SPCA in your area
- Sponsorship to underprivileged school or educational facilities with books, toys, snacks, equipment, stationery or tickets to see movies
