“I had decided to go home a bit earlier on Thursday, and I was shocked when I got home just after 3pm and walked inside and saw my home had been ransacked,” said the resident, who opted to remain anonymous.

The perpetrators allegedly used a garden fork, found in the resident’s yard, to break open the house’s back door.

The suspects stole her television set, tablet and external hard drive.

“At this point of time, I am not certain what they stole, but those are the items I noticed were gone. The burglars even went into my niece’s room, after kicking her bedroom door down.”

The resident’s niece was fortunately visiting another family member at the time.

What concerned the resident the most was that the suspects had gained access to her safe.

“My father used to collect bayonets and had a small collection of swords. These were all in the safe, and the burglars packed the bayonets neatly on my bedroom floor after opening the safe.”

While police investigations are underway, the resident is left with the emotional aftermath of having her home targeted by burglars.

“They have left me feeling violated in my own home,” she concluded.
