HIGH ALERT: Municipal staff to focus on CBD clean-up

Disgruntled NFP members all over the province have taken to protesting to express their anger

Earlier today members of the  National Freedom Party (NFP) trashed the Central Business District (CBD) with stones and piles of dirt to mention a handful.

Thereafter the crowd of members protested in front of the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court wearing orange NFP T-shirts.

The scene of the protest was surrounded by heavily armed police and patrolling traffic officers.

Unconfirmed reports state that NFP members are angered after being disqualified from part taking in the upcoming elections.

According to other media platforms, disgruntled NFP members all over the province have taken to protesting to express their anger.

An SMS sent out to municipal staff from the Acting Municipal Manager, Elphas Dladla stating the following:

“Colleagues…we have experienced serious destructions in town.

An illegal march by a mob of political party members who have damaged our waste bins and scattered waste.

Please change your plans and focus in town and ensure it is clean.”

Mr Dladla has requested municipal employees to shift their attention on clean-up efforts within town to clear up what he referred to as the ‘destroyed, damaged and destructed’.

“I have received reports to say that there is an illegal march that has been around town.

The allegations are that it is a political party that is demonstrating around town that have damaged infrastructural assets, being the refuse bins, throwing waste all over the streets,” added  Mr Dladla.
