Friends of Little Fighters help fundraise

Be on the lookout for this team who will be traveling the country, spreading awareness and raising funds for a worthy cause

Michelle and Cindy Abramson recently made a stop in front of Spar to collect donations for the Little Fighters Cancer Trust. The trust offers support to children who battle with cancer and includes support for their parents.

Sherlene Gericke, who has been raising funds for the trust for the past three years, holds the trust and its cause dear to her heart.

Sherlene will be hosting her annual fundraising market later this year for the Little Cancer Fighters and their families. Cindy Abramson’s mother, Joan Abramson and Sue Kelly started fundraising about eight years ago, for six of those years the pair raised funds for the Little Fighters.

Cindy’s mom passed away about three years ago and since then she has been involved in raising funds and creating awareness about the trust. Cindy lost her sister at the age of three due to cancer, and this is her way of commemorating her life.

At the beginning of this year her sister-in-law, Michelle Abramson, joined her and Cindy gave up her full time job at a college to pursue this. Sue Kelly, Cindy’s fundraising partner, passed on in November last year leaving Cindy to manage a fundraising team of four including herself.
