St Gregory ends the term in a special way

The learners have worked hard over the past 12 weeks and deserved their rewards

The second term has come to an end and that brought along St Gregory Primary School’s end of term Special Assembly on Thursday, June 23.

The learners have worked hard over the past 12 weeks and deserved their rewards. The prestigious event started off with the Principal, Mr Jansen, giving his quarterly report about what happened at the school during the term, as well as the plans for the third term.

The grade R, RR and RRR learners each received a certificate highlighting their unique abilities. The grade one, two and three classes had four categories for which they could receive an award: Good fellowship, Progress, Perseverance and Presentation of Work. The awards were awarded as follows:

Grade one

Cayleigh Hughes (Good fellowship).
Nompumelelo Mchunu (Good fellowship). Rutendo Ngwenya (Progress). Harshad Janki (Progress). Troy McMillan (Progress). Yusuf Shaik (Progress). Aphiwe Mbona (Progress). Bandile Mdladla (Perseverance). Pienaar Nel (Perseverance).

Grade two

Mikaela Saltmarsh (Good Fellowship). Huzaifa Khan (Presentation of Work). Ariana Muthumaree (Perseverance). Mfundo Mnguni (Perseverance). Sauda Rawat (Perseverance). Keshav Lalparsad (Perseverance). Sithokomele Nhlabathi (Progress). Krishay Janki (Progress).

Grade three

Olwenkosi Duma (Presentation of Work). Makhamahle Kumalo (Good fellowship). Upasana Lalparsad (Perseverance). Lwazi Nkuna (Perseverance). Ayabonga Mchunu (Perseverance). Preyash Lalparsad (Perseverance). Shamaine Bere (Progress). Nthabiseng Selepe (Progress). Udvasha Sonalal (Progress).
The senior primary learners received an award for subjects in which they achieved an aggregate of 80 percent or higher.

Grade four

Amahle Dladla. Asanda Mdlalose. Anele Mnigadi. Thandiswa Mzobe. Alwande Ndumo.

Grade five

Aphiwe Mabaso. Aidah Rahman. Swazi Hlongwane. Kelvin Bere. Keenen Dookey.

Grade six

Sfundo Made. Shakeel Manack. Ntoenhle Mfusi.

Grade seven

Asanda Mazibuko. Xolile Mbongwe. Desireé Drewett.

The term’s sport awards were also handed out. During the term the learners participated in hockey. The boys also represented St Gregory Primary School on the soccer field. A hand full of learners also went to Treverton for Cross country.

The sport awards went to: Khethelo Nhlabhati (Gr. RR). Oluhle Chamane (Gr. RR). Collins Bere (Gr. R). Ziyanda Gamede (Gr.R). Luseko Mthiba (Junior Boys). Olwenkosi Duma (Junior Girls). Asanda Mazibuko (Senior Boys). Karina Potgieter (Senior Girls).
