Vryheid Child Welfare would like to thank everyone who was present at their Annual General Meeting last week.

Rev Albert Jacobs who reminded everyone that God supplies all needs opened the meeting.

It was a very emotional meeting as a tribute was paid to two amazing Women, Carol Ellenberger and Bev Baxter, both Carol and Bev succumbed to Cancer this past year.

They have both left such a void at Child Welfare and in many hearts. They will be remembered with joy, as they filled so many lives with joy and hope, we will remember their smiles and happy times together as well as their driven enthusiasm to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate.

The following reports were given: Chairperson’s Report by Heather Gibbons reporting on the challenges faced and support received by Child Welfare during the year.

The Treasurers report was read out by Lyann Brown, which outlined the financials of the office. Thabile Sangweni who has recently been appointed as Supervisor presented the Social Workers Report in the form of a slide show highlighting the Casework, Group work, Community work and Fundraising that was carried out during this last financial year.

Copies of the Reports are available at Child Welfare.

Child Welfare would like to thank all the sponsors who helped ensure that the meeting was a great success.
