See the stars at the Moth Hall

The mobile planetarium will be open between 8am and 4pm.

It’s an opportunity of a lifetime, a chance to see the stars up close and personal.
EduDome will be setting up a mobile planetarium at the Moth Hall on June 15 and invite the community, both young and old, to experience a mesmerising presentation.

“The planetarium presentation is about the space and planets, how the sun comes up and the solar and lunar eclipse events. This is a phenomenon that every individual who lives on this beautiful planet needs to see at least once in their life time,” said Ethangeni Combined School’s, LH Mlotshwa.

Mr Mlotshwa said the decision to host the mobile planetarium originated when he realised how many people didn’t know what a planetarium is. “Instead of flocking to the big cities to experience this amazing astro-physics phenomenon, we thought it would be nice to bring it to the people,” he added.

Residents can expect to have their minds blown as they view the solar system as if they were in space themselves. “The Milky Way will be brought nearer to you as you explore the wonders of space. You hear the swooshing sounds of planets passing by.

The sounds and sights will leave you feeling like you’ve left the planet and come back again.”

Tickets are R25 per person and the planetarium will be open to anyone between 8am and 4pm.
