‘Kolskoot’ for DJS jukskei players

The under 14 boys and girls jukskei teams from Dundee Junior School represented Umzinyathi District

Dundee Junior School can be very proud of their jukskei players. The under 14 boys and under 14 girls jukskei teams from Dundee Junior School represented Umzinyathi District during the KZN Top Schools Winter Sports Eliminations.
The under 14 girls team was represented by Nhlanzeko Hlatswayo, Phiwokhuhle Sithole, Nosipho Mhlungu, Shikeira Palmer and Aphelele Sikhakhane, with coach Mandla Mavimbela. The under 14 boys were represented by Ruan van Reenen, Lusanda Shoba, Thando Qomfu, Simelwa Mbatha and Mthobisi Mlambo and coach, Henko van Reenen.

The Districts in KZN were divided into two groups and both teams from Dundee Junior School won in their groups. In the final play-off between the two groups, the girls under 14 won their final, but, unfortunately, the boys lost. Head coach, Leon Lombard, and manager, Sophie Mncwango, are very proud of their achievement.

The girls under 14 jukskei team from Dundee Junior School will represent KZN during the SA National Top Schools Championships to be held in Durban from July 9-16. (Dates still to be finalised). DJS wishes them the best of luck.
Well done to the DJS Top School Chess Team who went to Durban last week. Although they did not make the Nationals, they did well and the school is very proud.
