Weenen celebrates World Play Day
The Playgroup Facilitators organised and set up play areas as well as played games with the children
Learn to Play, Play to Learn, the basis of TREE’s (Training Resources in Early Education) focus in their Early Child Development programs.
To celebrate World Play Day, 10 playgroups from the rural areas gathered together at the TREE Weenen Toy Library, sponsored by the SOLON foundation.
The Playgroup Facilitators organised and set up play areas as well as played games with the children. The day was wonderful, filled with sounds of laughter and content children playing and learning.
Each playgroup has a turn to visit the Toy Library every term, giving the children opportunities to explore new toys and play on the outdoor equipment.
The playgroup facilitators meet every month and exchange toys they have borrowed for a new set from the library. This Toy Library facility is available to all the playgroups and crèches in the area.
