Newcastle Sakekamer keeps the finger on the pulse

NEWCASTLE – Sakekamer members gathered at the Newcastle Club on Friday for their monthly meeting.

Members discussed municipal issues and changes regarding trusts and taxes.

One of the guest speakers of the evening was South African Local Economic Development Network Project Manager, Charl du Plessis.

He emphasised the importance of forging strong ties with local municipalties by getting more involved, and finding ways for all parties to cooperate.

Sakekamer treasurer, NT Oostuizen discussed issues pertaining to trusts and imminent new changes.

He explained the various types of trusts and why trusts were importantant.

Japie Myburgh, president of the local branch of the Sakekamer, was impressed with recent projects implemented in various schools in the Amajuba District. He was also proud to announce that Vryheid Sakekamer had kick-started once again, with around 50 new members.
