Enyanyeni Combined, motivated for exams

“The type of people in your life have a lot to do with your journey in life.”

The matriculants at Enyanyeni Combined School are motivated and ready to tackle their half yearly exams.
The school recently held a motivation function to get matriculants focused on the upcoming exams. Former students, who are now graduates, came back to the school to share their success stories and inspire the matriculants. “Learners must not be defined by their circumstances, they must rise above it,” they said. Guest speaker, Deputy Principal of Dundee Secondary, Mr Mbatha, urged learners to surround themselves with people who added value to their lives. “The type of people in your life have a lot to do with your journey in life.” He also urged learners to adopt the 9 P’s in their lives; Poor People Progress from Poor to Prosperity Provided they are Prepared to Pay the Price.
Circuit Manager, TS Phakathi told learners that if they wanted to achieve 100% in life, they needed to change their attitudes towards teachers, subjects and school. “Life will never change unless they take action to change it.”
Mr Phakathi then gave the matriculants the KZN Pledge to say in front of their classmates and the people gathered there. They were also told to stick it in their textbooks and read it every morning before class.
Acting Principal of Enyanyeni Combined School, AF Msimang, thanked all who made the day a success. “A huge thanks to teachers, parents, members of the SGB and Mr Majola (Former District Director), Mr Phakathi and all stake holders who have supported our school.” She also thanked Mr Pandor, owner of Ismail Stores for donating jerseys to the learners who are from disadvantaged backgrounds and also for the donation of soccer balls.
