NEWCASTLE – Child Protection Week proved to be a success as the Newcastle Provincial Hospital ran numerous programmes in the Amajuba District to educate people on the importance of keeping children safe.

The hospital crisis centre, social services and various other stakeholders joined hands at Village Walk last Thursday to raise awareness about child protection.
“Child Protection Week is not only about child abuse, but also about registration of births, social grants and immunisations,” said forensic nurse, Yolande Groenewald.
