CANSA Community Mobiliser, Siphelelisiwe Mabaso said it was a nationwide amateur golf day hosted across the province during the month of June, to raise awareness about the dreaded silent killer.
“Sanlam suggested the fund-raiser and agreed funds would go toward the non-profit organisation this year. We are honoured and forever grateful for the loyal support we receive each year.”
Event organiser, Sampie Marais of Sanlam Newcastle said it is important to get involved in such events, as cancer is effecting more people every day, and by helping the association, patients can benefit.
“We are here to help as much as we can,” he said.
