#FarmAttack – No bail for Van Rooyen killers
Investigating Officer, Captain Attie Engelbrecht, has been diligent and unrelenting in his investigations and, despite the long road to justice that lays ahead, further arrests appear imminent.
Five men appeared in Vryheid Magistrates Court on Monday in connection with the murder of Billy Van Rooyen and Ronnie Lombard.
Before the Magistrate stood five of the six killers who were recently arrested for the brutal farm attack, which took place in April this year. The sixth assassin, Bongani Miya, never made it to his first court appearance, having taken his own life in the holding cells shortly after his arrest in May.
Despite their cold-blooded crimes, no remorse appeared evident as the murderers withdrew their bail applications and the case was postponed, pending further investigation, to June 27.
