Fast-acting detectives this evening (Friday) arrested one of the two security guards believed to have been with prominent businessman Mr Haroon Warasally at the time of his murder.
Within 24 hours of the brutal murder of Mr Warasally, officers nabbed the suspect in the Roosboom area.
Pelican Security company owner Mr Warasally was found murdered on the N11 last night. It is believed he was with two security guards he was leaving at their point of duty to change shifts.
The arrested suspect, aged 21, was found in possession of Mr Warasally’s cell-phone and SIM card.
The motive behind the attack appears to be robbery.
The second guard is still on the run. He is believed to be in possession of Mr Warasally’s firearm and cash that was stolen. A massive manhunt is underway for the second suspect.
