Spelling Bee excitement at ML Sultan

The school congratulates the top three finalists as they will represent the school at the Spelling Bee Competition at district level

It was a day of excitement, anticipation and nervousness at ML Sultan Estcourt Primary School as grade six learners participated in the Spelling Bee Contest.

Mrs S Bhikraj organised the competition on Wednesday, May 25. Among the contestants were six girls and four boys namely Aphiwe Masondo, Elihle Madinane, Samkelo Mncube, Amahle Mabaso, Asanda Langa, Tishen Govender, Sinenhlanhla Shongwe, Thabiso Thusi, Amor Chirindza and Butho Miya.

The adjudicators were Mrs S Maniram, Ms NM Mazibuko, and Mr S Buddhoo. The Pronouncer, Mrs KB Osman, had the task of also giving the meaning of the word.

After each round, the learners were eliminated until the top three learners. At assembly all the learners were presented with Certificates of Participation. The Principal, Mr Zuma presented the top three learners with trophies.

In third position was Elihle Madinane, Sinenhlanhla Shongwe got second position whilst Aphiwe Masondo captured the first position.
