Rapist slapped with life sentence

Justice for a couple who were attacked at Bosch Hoek Farm by three men.

NEWCASTLE – Sterling work by a police official has recently seen a rapist brought to book.

On February 1, explained SAPS Corporate Communications, a couple were attacked at Bosch Hoek Farm by three men, who took their belongings and proceeded to rape the female victim.

Constable Zama Cele was assigned the case.

Justice ran its course, culminating in the first suspect handed a life term by the Pietermaritzburg High Court on May 18, with the other two suspects to appear in court in June.

They all face additional charges of house-breaking and robbery with aggravated circumstances.

“The Commander of the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit commended Constable Cele on her outstanding work on this case.”
