All systems go for SAPS athletes
Medals won by 3 athletes from Ladysmith SAPS at SAPS National Athletic Championships
During the course of last week, it was all systems go for athletes within the SAPS.
That’s because the SAPS National Athletic Championships were taking place at the Bloemfontein Athletic Stadium.
Three athletes from Ladysmith SAPS participated in the event.
Major SB Yusuf competed in the field events, namely shotput, hammer throw and discus.
She brought home three medals – a gold medal for hammer throw and a silver medal each for shotput and discus.
Senior Admin Clerk PG Ntshingila also participated in shotput, hammer throw and discus. She brought home two medals – bronze for hammer throw and discus.
Foreman G van den Heever participated in the ladies’ 400m and 1500m races, as well as the 4km cross-country event. She came home with three gold medals, one for each sporting code she participated in.
