The Ladysmith Association for the Aged (Lafta) held a Pick ‘n Box & Queen Contest on Saturday night at the Civic Hall.

Lovely prizes were won by lucky Pick ‘n Box contestants, and a television set was also up for grabs as a raffle prize.

The ‘Queen Contest’ contestants looked absolutely stunning as they strutted their stuff on stage.

Not to be outdone, the Lafta grannies took part in a ‘Glam Gran’. This was not a judged contest, but was decided by lucky numbers. They won gifts and trophies, and walked away with crowns for their efforts.

A gift of appreciation was also given to the girl who sold the highest number of tickets.

After the contest, people enjoyed the night by dancing to more music by Akashvani.
