Mr Ramphal gets ready for the ultimate race

There are just three weeks to go until this year's Comrades Marathon on May 29

Mr Chaman Ramphal will once again be running the world’s toughest race, the Comrades Marathon, at the end of this month. This race requires adequate training to endure such an ultra-marathon. Preparation starts from six months before the race, with great dedication and enthusiasm. He will be attempting his 16th Comrades Marathon, which will be run from Pietermaritzburg to Durban.

In April this year, he completed the Two Oceans Ultra-Marathon (56km) as a practice run. He ran the Balito 42km Marathon last week and completed the race in good time.

There are just three weeks to go until this year’s Comrades Marathon on May 29. Mr Ramphal says now is the ideal time to taper down and do some speed work for the big race, which will see many runners from around the world participating.

Mr Ramphal would like to wish all runners the best of luck for Comrades 2016!
