Calling all aspiring young scientists!

The Science Expo has become the platform from which many young scientists from local schools have showcased their talents and scientific approach to solving the world’s problems.

The Science Expo has become synonymous with dedication, perseverance, inquisitiveness and excellent achievement.

It has become the platform from which many young scientists from local schools have showcased their talents and scientific approach to solving the world’s problems.

Many have travelled overseas to the world’s most prestigious science fairs, where they have excelled and won prizes for their outstanding work.

Some have achieved recognition and even offers to work and study at local and international universities. Others have had their inventions patented or scooped up by interested companies.

Young scientists who participate in the regional expos always stand out above the rest.

“[The] Northern KwaZulu-Natal Science Expo has been one of the highlights in my teaching career of 36 years,” said Deputy Principal of Newcastle High School, Muggie Liebenberg. “I have seen how pupils have grown from the very insecure, scared participants to the very confident, enthusiastic, mature pupils they are today.”

Pupils from urban and rural schools across the region travel from far and wide to compete in the NKZN Regional Science Fair.

This year’s regional Science Fair takes place on July 29. The closing date for entries is May 30.

If you’re school would like to participate, contact the Science Fair Director, Jean Anderson, on 036 637 2244 or anderson@nkznexpo.co.za
