Car flips onto its side
The Avanza ended up on the island dividing the north and southbound lanes
A Toyota Avanza crashed on the N3 near Ladysmith this afternoon (Saturday) after hitting a metal object that fell off a truck in front of it.
The Avanza was travelling behind an unknown towing service when the metal object fell off the tow truck and into the path of the light motor vehicle. The driver of the Avanza tried to swerve out of the way, but couldn’t avoid hitting the object. This resulted in one of the tyres bursting, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
The Toyota flipped and ended up on its side on the island dividing the north and southbound lanes.
The driver sustained a few cuts to the hand, and a passenger was uninjured.
Public Safety and N3TC were on scene.
