Many residents have complained to the municipality about the sad state of Colenso, but nothing gets done about it.
From dumping to the poor condition of the roads, no maintenance of parks, and street lights left on day and night.
Examples of terrible roads include the corner of Berg and Eleventh Avenue, Circle Road and many others. 10 year-old Sindisa Raula lives in Circle Road and is frustrated with the state of the road. “It is very hard to walk on my road, especially when it rains,” says little Sindisa.
Due to huge potholes, many roads are flooded when there’s heavy rain, which makes it impossible for people to get to their homes. Water fills up the potholes, making for a problematic situation.
Resident and Fire & Emergency Services employee Johannes de Jager blocks roads when it rains in an attempt to help.
