Man arrested at lodge for drug possession

33 ecstasy tablets, 13 magic mushrooms, 23 blocks of LSD (Lysergic acid diethylamide), clear crystal powder, a small quantity of dagga and cash was recovered from the man

Police seized drugs valued at R45 000 from a 26-year-old man at a Bergville lodge on December 30.

An array of drugs was found in the man’s possession after he was ‘detected’ with the drugs.

Police spokesperson Captain Charmaine Struwig said that 33 ecstasy tablets, 13 magic mushrooms, 23 blocks of LSD (Lysergic acid diethylamide), clear crystal powder, a small quantity of dagga and cash was recovered from the man.

He was arrested and is facing charges of being in possession of drugs.

“The suspect appeared briefly in court last week and was remanded in custody. He is expected to appear in the Bergville Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, January 6,” added Captain Struwig.
