How to do Christmas with pets

Make sure you buy decorations that aren’t made of any easily breakable material, not only for your pets but also for those clumsy guests

We all want to celebrate Christmas and show our festivity with a Christmas tree or some other decorations, but having pets sometimes makes it difficult. Here are a few tips on how to make your home ready for the festive season even if you have pets.

  1. You can keep your Christmas tree small. You don’t have to have a one-metre tall tree. If you get a tabletop tree, it can be put upon a table to keep it out of harm’s way, ie getting knocked over and damaged by Fido. And if you have cats or kittens, you can put the tree in a cupboard with a glass window to keep your decorations safe but make it visible to all.
  2. Make sure you buy decorations that aren’t made of any easily breakable material, not only for your pets but also for those clumsy guests. Rather buy decorations that are made of wool or plastic.
  3. Be certain not to buy any decorations that could be hazardous to your pets’ health, just in case they do end up getting hold of the decorations.
