Dundee golf club’s own Charl Schwartzel does the double

he Golf Committee would like to advise all our members that there will be no club competition this coming Saturday, December 5, due to the golf course being booked for the Endumeni Mayoral Golf Day.

The Dundee Country Club has their own Charl Schwartzel in the form of Louis Albertse (Jnr). Home for the holidays from the Golf Academy in Pretoria, Louis walked away with the Vryheid Open title a week ago, and this past weekend proved too good for his opposition on his home course, in winning the Monthly Mug medal competition.

Scoring a level par 71, Louis won the prize for the best gross score on the day and also went on to beat S Sithole in a play-off to win the best net in the A Division and win the Mug. The B Division Mug was won by Danie Von Mollendorff who finished the day on a net 67.
The ladies B Division Mug was won by Natasha Du Plessis with a net 74, and a brilliant net of 64 by Mel Janse Van Rensburg saw her walk away with the Ladies C Division Mug.

There were two winners of the Jackpot, both C Vermuelen and R Purchase scoring 11 jackpot points to earn themselves some extra cash.

 

There were three players who managed to card a 2 Club on the day, with R Khumalo on hole No. 8, together with M Bradbury and P De Waal, both on hole No. 4, having a share in the prize money. There were two winners of the Jackpot, both C Vermuelen and R Purchase scoring 11 jackpot points to earn themselves some extra cash.

Friday’s 11 Hole Meat Competition attracted a small field of seven golfers, with S Nzenya winning the meat hamper with 27 individual points.
