Sarel rugby players chosen to play in Italy

Well done boys. We are proud of you!

Kevin Johnson, Hardus van Eeden and Sphesihle Sosibo was deel gewees van die Suid Afrikaanse Platteland Rugbyspan wat gedurende die skoolvakansie in Italië getoer het. Namens Sarel Cilliers Hoërskool wil ons geluk sê aan hierdie drie seuns aangesien hierdie ‘n wonderlike prestasie is. Dankie aan al die ouers en borge vir elke bietjie finansiële bydrae wat gemaak is. Dit word opreg waardeer.

They played three matches while in Italy and the scores were as follows: SA vs Valsugana Rugby Padova, SA won 22-10. SA vs Italy Academy, SA won 28-12
SA vs Union Capitolina drew 19 all.

All of the teams they played against are Club Teams, which makes the scores an outstanding achievement. Well done boys. We are proud of you!
Mhleli Mkhonza entered the Top Matric Competition hosted by UOFS and made it to the top 14 finalists.

Although she did not win, she did get a R10 000 bursary. Five Sarel Cilliers High School choristers have successfully passed the final round of auditions for the 2016 NKZN Youth Choir: Siphesihle Msane, Oniele Ntsimane, Simphiwe Khuzwayo, Siyabonga Mdunge and Siyabonga Mzolo. Their programme kicks off with a camp that they will attend in the first week in December.

Next year promises to be a spectacular choir year! Congratulations on being selected to sing in this prestigious choir.
Our Harmony Voices choir participated in the choir festival at Dundee High on Thursday, October 15.
They sang really well and Sarel Cilliers is proud of their excellent behaviour and dedication.

The tennis teams took on Ladysmith High School on Wednesday, October 14. It was a great day to play tennis – the weather cooperated and the teams played their hearts out. They won 8 of the 9 matches. Congratulations to the the girls’ team who won all their matches this season and remain unbeaten. They are Spesihle Msane, Franci-Mari Gregory, Georgia Viljoen, Mhleli Mkhonza, Liezel Viljoen, Sonja Ackerman and Elzaan McHattie. Thank you to F Venter for taking the time to coach the teams.
The cricket team played against Reitz High School on Saturday, October 17, and won their match.

Congratulations!
Eight of Sarel Cilliers’s learners were selected for the Endumeni team to take part in the SALGA Umzinyathi Championship at Kallies Stadium on Saturday. Arnold Madawaenda, Ntokozo Zulu and Naledi Ndala were selected for the NKZN team to participate in Durban on December 11-15. Congratulations!

On October 31, the extravagant air show and career exhibition took place in Dundee.
It was such an honour for the learners from Sarel Cilliers to be invited to this amazing exhibition.

Mathematics and Science learners attended this event and SACAA introduced the aviation industry to learners.
The learners visited exhibition stalls and met many honourable guests.
