The medal winners are as follows:

Erich van Zyl, Sharvan Goli and Hugh Pretorius won one silver medal each, while Kai Goosen was a double silver medal recipient.

Taking home six gold and two silvers was Kayla Pretorius.

Francois Weyers added two gold and four silver medals to his tally, with Abigail Peters earning eight gold and three silver awards.

With six silver medals and two bronze, Gustav Boshoff impressed.

Varish Ramautar was the recipient of four gold and three silver medals, and Jany Schnetler achieved one gold, one silver and three bronze.

Cameron Fenton ended with two silver and two bronze awards.

Three gold, two silvers and one bronze were awarded to Amy Fraser, with Kelsey Kemp achieving one silver and one bronze.

This was not the only area of excellence for the local swimmers.

At the Invitational Short Course Swimming Championships, held in Boksburg in August, Gustav Boshoff, Arno van Zyl and Abigail Peters represented Amajuba District.

“Some of the senior swimmers rubbed shoulders with some big names at the Seagulls Winter Championships at Kings Park Pool in Durban,” coaches explained.

Congratulations to Amy Fraser, Cameron Fraser, Varish Ramautar and Sharur Ramautar on their excellent results.

“Newcastle Swimming Club is ready for the new swimming season, with some great galas planned, plus the Chelmsford Challenge coming up in February 2016.”
