We are moving towards summer very quickly and then all of a sudden, boom, snow falls in the Drakensberg.
Due to the cold front that moved through, snowfall was experienced yesterday and again today in various parts of the country. Snow fell in the mountainous areas of the Eastern Cape, Rhodes and Tiffindell yesterday.
Late last night and early this morning, certain parts of the Southern Drakensberg experienced their share of the snow. Sightings of snow were reported at Sani’s Pass in the Drakensberg. It was very light snowfall (0-5cm) and is melting very quickly.
Interestingly, it snowed in the Berg in February this year, at the height of summer.
