Dagga bust nets 30kg from taxi

Alert action by the Dundee SAPS on Saturday saw the seizure of 30kg of dry dagga bound for the Gauteng market. The drama unfolded when Road Traffic Inspectorate officer Bosman spotted a NF registered taxi go through a stop street at the corner of Gladstone and McKenzie Streets at about 3.30pm.
He pulled over the vehicle and contacted the SAPS. Sergeant SES Bouwer and Constables VF Ncubd and SP Ndlovu responded and obtained permission to search the vehicle.
The search two bags packed with dagga. The owner of the bags was promptly arrested and the vehicle taken to the police station where the driver also received a fine for disobeying a stop sign.
